a journal - assisted memory

Hmm...you know when you just start adding an entry and all you have is a big empty white box to type in?  Its like a big canyon.  I just want to type echo, and see if it'll pop up in the bottom right corner.  And...what if it did?

Okay, events update.  Dancing at the local dive with friends last Saturday; boogy-down, fall down, get down.  I think its all in that order.  It's really rather odd going out in a smaller town.  Basically the entire place is filled with people you either know, or have tried very hard throughout your life to not know.  Either way, you really don't have anything to lose if you just go crazy...I mean, everyone knows you, sure, but everyone knows you, so what the hell does it matter? (notice my liberal use of italics ^_^ ).  Anyway, the majority of the night was spent juggling people's attention, and just dancing with whomever happened to be bumped into.  I didn't end up going home with the people I came with, and I suppose that's nearly always a good thing.  What its implications mean for me and the rest of the summer, well, we shall just have to see.  Suffice it to say, I don't wish to divulge too much info, but since that night I think I may have stumbled upon either a hornets nest of problems or something completely new in the relationship encyclopedia...now it's just a matter of seeing if the other person is up to it or not.  There, I suppose that was horribly confusing enough.

In completely separate news, I had the chance to watch my brother perform his first real show on Sunday night.  The crowd wasn't to large, being that the show organizer screwed the pooch and had to reschedule the show a week later then it was supposed to run, making it fall at 6:00pm on Mothers Day!  Meaning, more or less any one from his age group was likely tied up with dinner with mom.  Either way, there were a few people there, and it was the first time I've ever really seen my brother perform, and I was pretty impressed.  He's the drummer and picked it up, oh, maybe a little over a year ago.  He's come a long way, and when he exploding into a riff (can you call drum sections that?) featuring the wickedness of non-stop doublekicks I was pretty much blown away.  Not too bad at all.

Hmm, other than that I've basically been working I guess.  One night of watching Family Guy and the horrible Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (I was occupied during parts of the movie, but from what I saw, the intentional pulpiness did NOT work in the movie's favor), another doing homework and a third eating delicious but tummy hurting pizza, oggling my brand new Life Aquatic DVD, and finally seeing Super Troopers...yes, it is funny.

It's kind of nice to be able to mark down all of your memories for yourself to peruse at a later date.  I think most people forget a lot of really memorable things just because they don't classify as major within their minds, and just the ability to log all of it onto some form of permement media (the internet is permanent right?) makes me feel much more content.  With that said, I think my next entry should be more thinking and less recalling.
