fate is when your computer falls on the ground...

I was doing quite a large discovery on Monday. It was going fine and everything, but then lunch hour came. And I was rushing around looking at documents and I was rushing to put something into my bag, and I must have tripped over my USB cords connecting my machine to laptop because I felt a tug and my laptop is flying through the hair sideways at that.  I think I must have JUST caught it just as it was crashing into my Mira.

So I thought everything was fine.  The lawyers came back from lunch. They  said a few words. It ended. and Ta Da! my program won't save because my USB ports are fucked up.  So I pressed Save Save Save save with no luck.  and had to hold my breath while I exited.

Luckily, I had two extra ports so that is my saving grace. I had re-install my drivers for both my security key and the machine hookup itself and held my breath as I booted CaseCatalyst back up. Thank GOD those files were still there. and Thank GOD for those extra two ports at the back.

So I went to CompiSmart to check it out and see how much it would cost to fix the ports, and they said 700 dollars!!!

so if I had not had two extra ports, I would have had no choice to buy a new laptop essentially  WHICH would have forced me to quit from this profession.  It made me think what would I choose to suck it up and spend the money OR just take the opportunity to quit. If it had happened on that day, I am thinking I would have quit.
