It seems like all my entries are about the weekends ...

I really should write about the other five days of the week. But I'm not going to in this post, because this past weekend was Fall Break, Audra and Steve's wedding, and just a ton of fun in general! I'm on a major withdrawal from all the bonding time between me, Ellen, Bennett, Brock, and Sarah. And Doug and Anna, too of course. Doug was so happy to have willing listeners for him to talk about all of his guns.

The wedding was absolutely wonderful. I only slept about 2 hours the night before because I was SO nervous, but the day dawned and it was a beautiful fall day (albeit a little bit chilly, especially when you are taking pictures outside on the lakshore in strapless dresses). Everything went according to plan, I got to see Sarah for the first time in 2 months, the Dortons for the first time in 2 or 3 years, and hang out with some of my most favorite people in the whole world, aka Piper, Michael, Brock, Bennett, Al, Katelin, Jacob, Sarah, the Dortons, and all my great cousins.

The wedding was top-notch, but the weekend was just awesome in general. Bennett and Brock stayed for the whole weekend, so we went to all the cool Parma hangout places: Friendlys, Marc's, Handel's, State Road Park (to shoot off pop/mentos rockets ... something Doug has been wanting to do for a long time), and we also walked around BLS after church on Sunday. We went into the 3rd grade classroom, and Mrs. Burke is still doing the Mad Minute rockets on the wall! We also looked at some of the great artwork hanging in the halls ... some of those third graders sure know how to cut a pumpkin out of construction paper! And they were pretty creative with their themes for the maps of a made-up city they drew. I think my favorite was the Elvis Presley themed city with the Hunk of Burning Love Fire Station. Now that's classy.

To conclude the amazing-ness of the wonderful weekend was a fantastic journey home. Although it was a bit bittersweet because we didn't want the weekend to be over. Ellen and Bennett drove in Hank, and I got to ride with Brock in his car. We had a lot of fun bonding time. We did some Mad-Libs, and Brock introduced me to the idea of having a theme for the words you used. So for one mad lib we chose the theme of The Wedding. The Mad-lib was about Julius Caeser, so for one of the fill-ins the prompt was a Famous Italian. Obviously there weren't any famous Italians at the wedding, so we went with Ryan Ben-ito. So the ending line was "Et tu, Ryan Ben-ito" heehee We also discussed what your top 5 favorite songs of ALL time would be if you had to choose. I've got my 1 and 2 (Faithfully by Journey and Strawberry Wine by Deanna Carter), but the other 3 are pretty hard to pick. Right up there would be A Whole New World from Aladdin, Wouldn't It Be Nice by the Beach Boys, Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healy band, Annie's Song by John Denver, It's Not Just Me by Rascal Flatts, Always by Bon Jovi ... and the list goes on and on and on!!!

But I DO know that in the top 1,000 hours of my life, this weekend would be right up there with Europe trip.
