Hyukkie woke up as he smelled something was burning up. He rose up from the bed and went outside. He was still wearing his jammies but he didn’t mind. He headed straightly to the kitchen, only to see Donghae looking haggard while biting his thumb and a burned out cake that was placed on the table. He saw a “Happy Birthday, My Monkey” on the cake and he felt the urge of crying.
“Hae…” Hyukkie murmured as he stared at his lover.
Donghae glanced at him and slightly smiled. But when he saw Hyukkie’s tears streamed down on his cheeks, he panicked and immediately walked towards him.
“Hyukkie, why are you crying?” Donghae asked and wiped out Hyukkie’s tears using his thumb.
“Hae…did you bake that cake just for me?” he asked back. Donghae looked anxious when he answered.
“I’m so sorry, Hyukkie. I wanted to bake the most perfect cake for you but I ended up baking a fried cake. I felt ashamed to myself. I don’t know how to bake.”
Hyukkie sobbed and hugged Donghae. He never felt happier. Donghae doesn’t know how to bake nor cook but still, he made something for him. For him, that cake, fried or not, was the most important present he’d ever received in his whole life. It came from Donghae. It came from the man of his dreams.
“Hae, it’s okay. I am happy now,” he said and kissed Donghae’s forehead.
“But the cake was not perfect,” Donghae replied while bowing down his head. He looked so cute that he pinched his cheeks so hard.
“Hae, perfect or not, as long as it comes from you, it’s the most important thing to me. Don’t worry about the cake. We will eat it together, okay?”
“Wouldn’t it cause us constipation?” Donghae cutely asked.
Eunhyuk chuckled and tasted the cake. It was burned out but tasted definitely fine. He could tolerate the taste. It doesn’t matter anyway.
“Hae it’s delicious. We can eat this.”
Donghae nodded and hugged Hyukkie again. “Happy Birthday, My Hyukkie,” he whispered and cupped his face. He gave him a kiss and for Hyukkie, that was already the best.
“I love you, Hyukkie. And promise! I will join a baking class just for you.”
“Aw, Hae. So sweet of you. Thank you so much. You are the best!” Eunhyuk smiled and pinched Donghae’s cheeks again.
“Where’s my response?” Hae questioned out.
Eunhyuk cutely smiled and whispered to Donghae’s ear. “Nado saranghaeyo, fishy~”
