26,000 isn't bad. It's the best I've ever done. 1,667 words a day is insane, frankly, although I salute people who can do it without resorting to "nonsense dialog translation cheating" techniques.

And don't worry about nano - I have heaps to do on my book too. If you like we can try to motivate one another (it was mainly my rivalry with snow white that was keeping me going, and she's finished now).

Glad to hear about your new job opportunity! But, regarding NANOWRIMO...
I had never heard about it. I joined a writting group that met on November 28th and two of the group members had done the project and were showing off their certificiates. I immediately went to the bookstore shelves (yeah, Barnes and Noble suckered me) and picked up the No PLOT? NO PROBLEM! book and a companion boxed novel-writting kit (Okay...they really suckered me). So, I'm doing my NANOWRIMO in December because I wanted to finish a novel before the year was over. So here I am on Day 8 and I've met my word totals consistently!
I'm writting to you to encourage you to keep it up and finish. It's not about the quality- "Don't get it right--get it written."
Come on! You can do it! Besides, it's lonely doing NANOWRIMO in a month that is NOT November. I do have a lot of support, my wife and family are behind me and they believe in me, but more importantly- I know I can do this.
--and you can too.
Best Regards,
G-man.
