Teh Weekend!

Events of the past three days:

Flying on a turboprop from Podunk to NYC.

Attempting to fly to DC from NYC. Getting diverted to Baltimore because "it is raining in DC, and we don't have enough fuel to go into a holding pattern".

Sitting on Tarmac in Baltimore for 2 hours, despite fact that BWI is a 20 min rail trip to DC.

Getting to Reagan airport in DC, and not having my luggage come out. I go to the help desk and ask where my luggage is. I am told that it will be in on the next plane, since my layover in NYC was just 30 mins. I explain that the next plane arrived 1.5 hours ago. They then proceed to take 30 mins to find my luggage. I am proud of the fact that I have not screamed at anyone.

I survive a 3AM trip through S.E. Get back to my hotel in Arlington at 4AM, and sleep for 3 hours. I then get up, beat my inner introvert to a pulp and gladhandle until 3 o'clock. I then grab a cab, go to the Supreme Court, and meet Justice Scalia (people are weirded out when I go "Bob says hello" and Scalia responds "Oh, you work for Bob, how is he doing, tell him I said hi"), and a whole bunch of other random important people. I recieve multiple job offers, and pass out multiple business cards to Law firm partners whom I have managaged to charm (I stopped by Tiffanys earlier the week and bought a business card holder). I even get someone else a job offer through my mad l33t networking skills.

I then mentally pass out forget what time I am meeting http://www.livejournal.com/users/leperunclean/ for dinner. I wander around Chinatown. I then eat delicious Chinese food, and am told "Surprise, your drunk." Hilarity ensues.

I go back to my hotel, sleep, wake up and get more job offers. I then do random stuff in DC for a few hours and go to the airport. My flight to NYC takes less than 45 mins. My flight to podunk is delayed and I sit around in Laguardia for 3 hours. The flight attendant (there were only 5 people on the plane, and we were told to all sit in the back to balance out the weight distribution!) was cool. She explained that the reason the plane was late was that it had just come from Martha's vinyard. The airline had sold 37 tickets for a plane which only holds 34 people. Fortunately 10 people did not show up. 7 people had standby tickets. Apparently this would have worked out but the 10 missing people showed up right before the plane was supposed to leave and a great deal of time was spent pulling people off and moving people onto the plane.

Now I pass out. My goal is to not interact with any people for the next two days.
