Prom
Overemphasized, exceedingly expensive, and disappointing are all words that I would use to describe my first prom. About the equivilent of a group of friends getting together, dressing up, flushing $200 down the toilet, and then dancing to music and eating snacks.
The night didn't go how I had hoped anyways. Dinner was expensive, $40 a person. We arrived on time which apparently was early. I got in without having to buy a ticket, not like i would have gotten $25 worth out of it if i had bought one. The music was the cliche music we're all used to. rap songs with love shack and cha-cha slide twice. I got horrible shoulder cramps, and they could have done something for us by say, opening a window. I didn't get the dance i had hoped for either.
upside? the punch was pretty good, and the DJ at least attempted to find something with bagpipes for angus to dance to. I got closer to a few people, although i think that could have happened without the expense and music.
if you didnt go, you didnt miss anything, i dont see what makes it so special. even for senior prom its still just the above. whatever.
