Was going to go to the gun club today, but decided to goof off here instead. I spent the morning letting the tegus (lizards) wander around the living room and cleaning cages. TegTeg's gotten big now, around 4 feet in length, if not more. I think the red tegu is female. She was a rescue that was supposed to be a year old. That would make her two now, and she's definitely looking more like a female than a male. Unfortunately, TegTeg is scared silly of her!

We did go shooting yesterday, but that group of competition shooters that always ties up the 200-yard range all day (reloading equipment everywhere, guns on stands at every bench) was there again. One of the guys always reloads with a cigarette dangling out of the corner of his mouth. I keep waiting for a louder boom than usual, but so far, his luck has held! With no room on the range, I ended up shooting metal plates in the pistol pits. Carl's been wanting to play with the metal plates, so he blew off shooting trap to come down there. Bob came down and joined us about half an hour later. The plates were actually a lot of fun, except now I have six guns to clean. Also, that Walther PPK/S I bought in almost new condition from my sister to bail her out of dire financial straits is a POS! Constant misfeeds...and I mean every damn shot through two brands of ammo and three different magazines. Some of the jams were so badI had to take the bottom of the magazine off to empty the gun before clearing the jam. I was afraid it was just me, but it did the same thing for Carl and Bob. I have a feeling it's going to have to visit a gunsmith when I can afford it. After a couple hours in the pistol pits, I checked the rifle ranges again, and they were still tied up, so I sulked for a while then shot a few rounds of trap with Bob and Carl. I sucked more than usual at it, but it was terribly gusty, so we all sucked more than usual. Anyway, if I get all my stuff done today, I probably will go to the range tomorrow. Maybe if I get there early, I can claim a spot on the 200.
