Bad things about weekends is that, after a couple of days only, it's Monday already.
And on Mondays temperatures always seem more freezing, trains later, buses more crowded... c'est la vie, how they say ;)
But then there are also good things, like sitting in the crowded but warm train reading a nice book: I would keep on doing that forever; it's actually my fave moment to read, because, even if I'm sleepy, my mind is fresher and I can concentrate more, I can really dip myself inside the story, while in the evenings, in the coming-back journey, I'm usually quite tired mentally.
Then there's this new project: I was feeling a little bit sunk in the past few days, but on Friday I've forced myself to ask a bit of help to my project leader (I hate asking for help... it's a big minus of mine) and now I have it more clear in my mind, so I have a lot of enthusiasm about it once again.
Weekend has been cosy.
I've spent almost the whole Saturday wandering through Torino with Silvia, and, really, I can't honestly say why time has passed on so quickly, we didn't do much, besides going in&out shops of course; but it did, which can be seen as a sign of having spent a mellow time :)
I particularly like Turin when it's autumn, I guess it's a season that suits it particularly... Then, also if there's that tiny, wet November rain as there was in the morning, it's not a big deal, as you can stroll in total ease watching shops' windows without getting soaked, as almost all the roads in the center have arcades.
We also went to see "Marie Antoinette", which I've really enjoyed, exp. from a visual point of view. Sofia Coppola is always so sensitive at creating atmospheares, with lights and landscapes/surroundings... I've particularly liked the part concerning her "bucolic" phase: I definitely have to make some addy labels with that, if I can find some pics (in some rare movie web site that is not banned by the f***ing filter:it doesn't even allow me to go on the IMDB any longer, blah :P). Then also the soundtrack was cool: it was a pop/rock one, and at the beginning I found it a bit weird, as it was a costume flick, but I must say it really suited it well, it's been an original choice. And the fact that there was a shot of a pair of Converse trainers among Marie Antoinette's shoes *lol*. I've read they've done it on purpose.
On Sunday instead I've spent some time with my mum, as my dad is off to South Africe once again, and he doesn't even know if he'll be able to come back for Xstmas :P
We were supposed to have a massive shopping spree at
"Le Gru", which is a huge mall, with nearly 200 shops near Turin: on their web site there was written that yesterday it would have been opened, but it wasn't true :S
With us there was also other people waiting outside but it was sadly closed :P ...dunno why!
So we went to the Ikea next to it, where I bought some Xstmas stuff and some boxes for food to carry in the office for lunch. We also had breakfast there, finding out that their capuccino is absolutely not bad, even if it's served in paper cups... but that reminded me of London, which is good, of course. And we only spent 1 euro each (for cappuccino + croissaint).
Then we kept wandering around and ended up going to the mountains, where we had a nice stroll in the woods (it was a beautiful sunny day, not cold at all, and colours of nature all around really seemed like a paint: I regret I didn't have my camera with me, but it was totally unplanned) and had lunch in a fish restaurant (yeah *kinda* weird, but Giaveno, this mountain town where we often go, has many fish restaurants, and most of them are absolutely good): I took seafood spaghetti, which were yummy, but as usual the portion was too huge, so I've been a bit sick for the rest of the day, which I've spent reading and writing letters.
I'm more late than I've ever been with answering them: I feel a bit guilty about it, and, what's sadder, I also feel that some pallies are getting a little bit offended :S
Well... honestly I can't say they're not right *sigh*
I want to go somewhere for December 8th... but still no clue where. Some place in Italy, comfy to reach with the train...
We'll see.
