Natural selection is a beautiful thing. I don't think that interfering with it too much is a wise decision. I think that protecting people from things that they don't know any better about is a good thing. i.e. don't give a bear trap to an infant. But I also think that stupid people that cause their own death through something that they know not to do but do anyway through their own stupidity earn their deaths. i.e. a 12 year old who knows that playing fire is dangerous that sets himself on fire to try to imitate The Human Torch that he recently saw on the new Fantastic 4 movie and burns to death.
There is a difference.
If you've noticed, the nation has been getting steadily less intelligent and logical. This is because so many precautions alter the magic of Natural Selection.
We could probably all be superior beings with immunities to most deadly diseases and much higher technologies if we had just let some stupid people kill themselves.
