Weekend thus far
Friday was snow filled to say the least. I decided to put up my tree and other decorations. I also got my gift basket from my 'brother' Kitty :) It had stuff for everyone. A Starbucks card for me, a Gas card for Sam, toys for the dogs (Including A's Dog) Treats for the dogs, and then homemade chocolate chip cookies, chocolate covered pretzils, English Toffee, Truffles, chocolates and Carmel Machiiatto Biscotti! :) YUMMMY! I was very surprised when UPS dropped it off.
We rotated cars around so the plow guy could come and take care of the driveways. A came down with her little dog and the pups played with Elizabeth from upstairs. Dogs and child slept soundly last night.
This morning Elizabeth came down to play some more while her mom went out and cleaned off the car and did some shoveling. She played with the dogs, and all the stuffed animals, including my dragon puppet. She and Buddy cuddled on the couch and watched cartoons until her mom came to get her.
Sam and I decided that given tomorrow's weather report we would take his car down the shop today and leave it for the mechanic for Monday. So called A and her and D joined us, we went down to Worcester to crop off the car and then went to the mall to go see "The Day the Earth Stood Still". We had lunch/Dinner before the movie at Bertucci's.
I really liked the movie, The original was the first science fiction movie I'd ever seen when I was a little kid so I have fond memories of it. I liked it a lot. It was very well done and nicely updated without taking away from the story line or the intent of the film.
We braved the long line to go to Target to look for a sled, none wer eto be found :( unfortunately but did get a few other items I needed. Also ran into some people from the Camelot co-housing group, they just moved in and were over at the mall getting some 'essentials'. Was nice to see them and I'm happy they were able to move into their home before the holidays. :) I'm sure that is an added plus to their holiday to be in their new homes.
Tomorrow I plan to veg and watch dvds and whatever is on the Tivo...and just in general Hang out! Not going outside for anything!
