a few nights ago i had a dream of dolls' heads violently swirling in cake icing & pencils that scratched out images of cats in outer space. there was more to the dream, but it's hard to remember. lots of art, motifs lifted from Pop Surrealism, a female artist ranting about the distortion of her message by copycat artists, lots of female artists whose violent girly artwork was on sale at Amazon. i vaguely recall floating goddesses reigning over illustrated islands, perhaps there was candy & blood & dresses, the colors white & pink were dominant, feminine plastic toys & cosmetics abounded, spilling powder & sprinkles over the plastic doll heads, anger about the use of menstrual blood & feminist drama in art, something about sisterhood & disavowing certain symbols. collages! i created collages out of never-before seen images, layering magazine cut-outs over one another, pieces of fabric with frayed edges, dashes of glue & blood. little girls' tresses & flower petals & love notes written on pink paper.
