Magic tournament stuff

It turns out that tonight's draft is not a Release Event, which means no cool foil promotional card for everyone. It's also not even Friday Night Magic, which means no cool foil promotional cards for the winners and two random fools. Friday Night Magic is still Standard, and the Release Event, which is sealed deck, isn't till Sunday, so now I'm planning on going to that. Thought that you'd all like to know!

Also, I confirmed via the Wizards Website that a tournament that has between 32 and 64 people is supposed to have six rounds, and then cut to top eight single elimination. A pox on you, Merlyn's, and your poor tournament planning!

Moreover, this PTQ coming up is being held, supposedly, at Hobbytown USA. I happened to have checked that out yesterday. Their gaming room was set up with tables and 24 chairs. If you absolutely crammed as many people as possible in, it could maybe hold twice that number. How they are going to have a PTQ there, I have no idea. Maybe it'll be really small, which seems wild since first place gets a free plane ticket to Hawaii, as well as the Pro Tour invitation.
