I re-injured my hand at rehearsal last night, hit the back of it on the chair rail. It hurt like a motherfucker but just went on with the second act. Afterwards it seemed fine. At the time it felt about 10x hitting your funny bone. So I head home and as I am trying to sleep the pain starts. Normally I'm the type of person who just sucks it up. This time I couldn't. Alex was out of town so I had to call my mom to take me to the ER. I've never been in so much pain! They hooked me up to an IV and gave me two doses of Fentanyl. It did nothing if not make the pain worse. Opiates suck. At least I didn't throw up like lots of people. Five hours, 10 x-rays later and the Dr. says it doesn't look like anything is broken, it could be a bruised nerve but he's stumped. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon next week. Then they put on a splint, pumped me full of steroids (ick) and hooked me up with Norco 10's. Why the hell didn't they give me those in the first place? The worst thing? I have preview tonight.
Typing with one hand reeks.
