Bleh.
I fucking hurt. Luckily my meds are starting to kick in. Hooray for Soma, Vicodin, and Naproxen. I was talking to my Grammy on the phone last night for her b'day and *pop* my back just crashes on me. No warning, nothing. So today after a horrible night's sleep I'm toddling around at work barely able to do much. The kids have to pick up anything that falls and I have to forgo our plaster of paris fossil project. Luckily they are pretty understanding. It got so bad that after our torturous staff meeting I had Alex tae me to the dr for some meds. I'm not one for meds...I usually wait 'til the last possible second to take anything but I knew I couldn't make it through the night and tomorrow at work with detention duty on a back like this.
Today is Bethia's birthday. She's 14 today. I guess it isn't very special for her. She pretty much said so. *sigh* She wouldn't agree to having a birthday party so I don't know what we could do. We did go out to dinner and we got her two tix to see her fave new band My Chemical Romance. She gets to pick who she wants to go with and go alone! Dad is very nice to do that...but not that we want to have to sit through the concert. We are also taking her to pick out a skateboard. She was pleased with that. We'll see if the egg donor decides to contact her daughter to tell her happy birthday. There wasn't any card today. Some people really shouldn't be parents.
I got cast in Midsummer. Not what I wanted by far but I decided to do the part I was offered regardless. Ehhh. It's pretty damn small. I'll be Hippolyta the "Amazon Queen" heh. Should be cake and I'll get to act opposite James so that'll be fun. (James you finally get your wish!) It kind of sucks in a way, getting older. You have the talent and experience but you aren't necessarily the ingenue anymore (though I can pass for it). But then the flip side is you get to have the plum roles that really require acting..the roles that stretch you. Those I usually just get asked to do and that is my real joy. I am so excited for October and Communicating Doors. The cast is amazing!!! We all seem to be so thrilled to be able to be a part of it. Peter even said I could try to find my own Dom outfit. That rocks. I so want to sport the leather and buckles and a big ol' whip!
