I'm sure there will be people who bitch about how the whole episode revolved around Andy's and John's personal problems, but I thought it was one of the better episodes I've seen.

I figured from the beginning that Hatcher was behind everything, but over the last few weeks, I ended up double-guessing myself. Yeah, they went the obvious route, but I still thought it was interesting. I had the feeling Andy kidnapping Stan would come back around to bite him in the ass, but at the time, Stan acted scared enough that I never even suspected he might be wired.

I'm loving Bale more and more by the day. Whether he's a hard-ass or not, I think the man is an inherently good guy. Andy obviously pisses him off - especially when he goes against direct orders repeatedly - but he knew that Andy didn't deserve what was happening to him, and he came through for him. Similarly, he defended Martens when Andy snapped at him in IAB. He was uncomfortable making the deal with Hatcher and his uncle, due to his own beliefs (Always follow the rules, leave it in the hands of the law, etc.) but he knew it was the only choice at that point.

I'm glad that John is finally beginning to see the light in regards to his behavior. I think everyone in that precinct has absolutely had it with him, and he realizes that. Realizing that Andy got shot because of him - the knowledge that he'd been macking on an underage girl - seeing firsthand what he'd done to Larry - I think it was a wake-up call for him. It's about time, too. I'm ready for him to start putting the pieces back together. However, my heart broke for him when he all but begged Baldwin to hang out with him, and he turned him down.

Speaking of broken hearts.....I ended up feeling so sorry for that Larry guy. Listening to him talk about how, when he goes to a dinner party, the people seated next to him always give him these disappointed looks - that was so sad.

The Connie issue is starting to become this big black hole. Andy got shot, and yet she's "downstairs"? I can't imagine she'd leave his side for a second. But I also can't imagine how else they would handle this situation. Andy's already been through so much shit, I don't see them killing Connie off, or having her leave him, or what have you. And yet it's obvious that Charlotte Ross won't be back. *shrugs* I guess she's going to be this enigma for the rest of the series.

Amusing moments: John having to dig through a stack of phone numbers in order to find the right one.....Medavoy's hurt look when Corinne made a comment about short guys.....and Baldwin and Medavoy role-playing with John Irvin in order to get Larry to confess. Hee!

And also, unrelated to NYPD Blue, but......happy birthday to charlidos! :)
