I forgot to add to the complaining.
We're getting paid $300 for the gig, as opposed to the $350 they first promised, and the $250 they later tried to argue.
4 hrs of performance time
+ 6 practices * 3hrs/practice
+ 8 hrs gathering lyrics and chords to songs I've never heard before
= 30 hrs
$300 / 5 musicians = $60 each.
$60 / 30 hrs = $2/hr.
Let's not forget that we have to find our way there and bring our own equipment. Well, I'll be making my way to the bar more frequently than is professionally accepted.
