I need to use this thing.
I don't feel like bitching about lulzy FEDS bitchery on the dA or on my real-life-friends journal. So. Here we go.
Aaaaagh. I am loath to say it, but I might not get the new Fire Emblem game. I don't particular care about the story, I hate the in game and official art*, they still excised support systems**, and I don't own a DS. However, rumors among my Nintendo slave friends and those with no moral scruples, say that the gameplay = orgasms and sparkles of joy, so this may be the first time I buy an FE game ( and DS, nooo my money) mainly for the gameplay. And apparently SH5 can be bought off of Steam (and Mr. Boyfriend = guaranteed purchase, at least for himself), so I guess the wallet damage won't be that horrible and severe. Especially going into new semester.
What am I talking about? New semester is going to be brutal anyway. (Even if projects is not taught by same guy.) Oh well. There are still people who haven't/won't play FE10 so I get to join the minority who haven't played FEDS. I don't even want to call it FE11, geez.
*Marth's plastic genie pants are not the only culprits here. Sheeda, you too. Navarre as well. The OAs just look gross. Seriously. I know that artist can create good (fappable) art, he just didn't seem to try to hard enough. Everything is shiny, greasy looking, and plastic-textured, even the clothes that are not plastic. Sheeda is literally missing parts of her ribcage. I realize that it is stylized. But it is not THAT stylized that Sheeda doesn't merely look anorexic, she looks like she could break in half at any moment because her body is drawn wrong. And yet! And yet her face is so pretty! It looks like cheap mistakes that could have been fixed in stage 3!
There are other problems (plaaaaastic peeeeople!) but Sheeda is the outstanding failure. Art isn't everything to the game, but I at least expect a certain standard and not have the artist slack off so much that it looks disgusting.
**Who knows, maybe they solved the "spare character development syndrome" thing that FE10 suffered so badly from.
