Staying on schedule is tough when unexpected decides to come and F U in the B. I basically spent the entire day trying to get my computer stable again. It's been crashing randomly with no BSOD, or leaving any other evidence of the source of the problem. So I've been uninstalling software, virus/malware/spyware scanning, removing hardware, reinstalling drivers, updates, flashing the BIOS, running memory tests, adding fans, posting to forums, chatting with my brother, doing voodoo etc.
To no avail. As a result, I played 0 hands of poker today... except for the 2am tourney which I thought I could play while studying. For some reason this tourney that I've been playing was a turbo tonight, which means that it's a quick and dirty lucky donkey fest. So I busted out quickly there, because I am neither lucky nor donkey. Hardly any studying for this exam I have at 5:30 tomorrow. But that's typical of me.
Got up on time, ate, vacuumed, camped out at the Undergrad office from 11:45 till 2pm. Apparently walkins begin at 1pm everyday except Wednesdays they're an hour later. So that's great. I study a tad in the waiting room, I gchat a whole lot more. I find all the financial aid forms, but I don't fill them out yet. I speak to an advisor and naturally, that one class I need to graduate is full and I threaten to throw chairs and yell. But there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Apparently I can ask for an alternative class for that. Crossing my fingers there. And then I find out there's a slew of other administrative ish I have to do.
I head home and forget to talk to the grad advisor... to fix my computer.
It's being a little bia.
I cook/eat dinner and head over to my buddy's to p90x with his dumbbells. He's a lazy bastard and doesn't want to do it with me, insisting on sitting out. So, I was like "dude this is weird... well don't watch me work out then." He took it literally and actually didn't look at me the entire time I was working out in his room. Just kind of facing the wall while talking to me. super awk
I head home and do another quick p90x ab session since I didn't work out the night before. I shower, and I'm watching youtube vids on my laptop, while learning some new guitar stuff, with my book open in front of me, and a memory test running on my computer in the background. I've covered 5% of the material that I need for this exam.
So I want to take a more mathematical approach to rating my productivity level. Let's assume that I get around 6 hours of sleep a night (I don't but that's how I'm scheduling things), and 2 misc hours for eating and such, leaving 16 hours in the day for productivity. I think the 8 sleep/eat/essential life function hours should be excluded. So today, I probably put in 5 hours working on my computer, 3 hours waiting for advisor, 1.5 hours exercising. I'm gonna half the 5 hours working on the computer because I'm not sure if that should be counted as productive or not. I do NEED to fix my computer, but also I could've been multitasking better, so 2.5 + 1.5 + 3 = 7 hours today. 43.75% ? Fair enough. IMPROVEMENT!
tomorrow
