SO I spent some of my signing bonus this weekend on an X-box and a slew of games. If I am missing any must-plays let me know. Some may be surprised at the lack of Halo, others not so much. I still cant decide if I want to grab a copy or not ( Read more... )

I'd recommend some sports games like NCAA Football 06, but I don't think you swing that way...

Jade Empire is eh...maybe rent it for a night?

Burnout 3 is a must have though.

Fatal Frame 2: Ooh... I had forgotten about this series. I'll try to remember to add it to The List

Psychonaughts: I know, I know. You would think I would have played it already given my man crush on Tim Schaefer.

Ninja Gaiden: It's awesome. I got about 3/4ths through it until the difficulty got to me. I still have yet to beat a Ninja Gaiden game. Actually, I don't feel badly about that. Fuck Itagaki.

I don't blame you there. The only one I've beaten was the original NES game, and that was only with save states -- going back to 6-1 because you died at the boss on 6-5 is dumb.

Oh, I'd also like to point out how MS fucked up the 360. If the 360 had full backwards compatibility you would have waited another couple of months to buy a 360 instead, right?

I also want to commend you for not buying Halo :)

Exactly. I totally would have waited to buy a 360 if it could actually play all the XBOX games I have been meaning to play. I probably even won't get a 360 on launch because the launch titles are not that captivating. Gears of War however looks very perty. It might suck, but Im not gona even bother till there are more games for it.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is awesome, if you can find it. It's oh so very pretty and awesome and thumbwrecking.

Chronicles of Riddick is worth renting or borrowing. Good game, but you can easily burn through it in under six hours. Replay value is nil.
