I remember Lily telling me about Neopets When I was still in High school. A senior to be exact. It was indeed a nifty litle tomagotchi-esque site, where one could play games, earn poits and upgrade your "pet". I thought it was cute, I never thought it could survive the fateful .com crash. Ohhhh how I was wrong. Never underestimate RPG like traits. By that I mean spending time to "level up" your character. They even had their gender roles covered. You can either battle to make your pet stronger, or accessorize to your hearts content. But in order to do these things you have to spend time on the site. Brilliant. Its like a free MMO that with every minute strengthens its own brand name among children. Anyway mad props to them for doing so well. They just sold the company to MTV for 160 million. Way to achieve the .com dream that so many lost. Neopets team, I salute you.
