Man where to start. It's ben a long time.
Teh Game:
Only a matter of weeks! Blows my mind. The demo came out Friday but be warned it's an old build and thus load times and perf will pwn you. The most recent builds are a lot better. Just the other day I was playing on my home machine (which is below min spec) and it was playing just fine. Given the graphics settings were turned all the way down. But even then it still looks decent. Needless to say I'm pretty busy with the final crunch. The weird thing about the final crunch though is that every bug must be approved by a commitee, so if you finish all yours you have this weird "on call" period waiting for more bugs, or scavenging bugs from other people. I think the game is a lot of fun though.
Other games:
I want to play oblivion badly, but I'm gona have to wait till after we go gold. I appreciate the depth of the character generator, but I would have loved a time saving "hotness slider".
Brown:
A few weeks ago I returned to the 'ol Alma Mater. Crashed with Garahm. He is doing well and gona be working for amazon next year. Pawel is gona be EA's bitch and work for the Sims team. Not too much has changed around campus, but it helps to have people you know still up there. On that note, who is comin up for comencement. There are a lot of people I need to see.
Wave Twister:
Check this flick out if you haven't seen it. Sweet turntabalist sureal sci fi action. I kid you not.
Cthulhu:
Dave and I are runnign a Cthulhu game these days. The second game was last night. It was good times. I am REALLY glad we ran masks senior year. I had a lot of fun with it. Is it wrong to have a lot of fond memories of events that never really happened? It was a really great way to force us to socialize together into the wee hours of the night, that's for sure. I'm also glad that both my peeps up at Brown and my peeps back home are not psycho. There are some whacky whacky gamers out there. Thank you all for not beeing those types.
Current Obsession:
Usuaaly my obsessions follow this cycle:
----> Music -----> Guns ----> (wraps)
Both major catagories have sub catagories that dominate for periods. Synths, guitar, microphones, DJ'ing etc for music and flintlocks, cannons, airsoft, paintball, modern guns etc.. for the gun category. Current subcatagory = airsoft. I blame Nick and Alexi for showing me there super nifty airsoft stuffs. Damn them. Now I yern to crawl around in the woods playing soldier. (like I did all the time as a kid). For those not in the know the major diff between airsoft and paintball besides the ammo is that the airsoft guns look exactly like real guns. also you can use mesh masks to avoid fogging for my fellow myopics, which is a big plus)
Nihal:
Is coming to DC in May. Im gona show him the sights, and then take him to shoot some guns. (either paintball, airsoft or real) I doubt he could do any of the three in India. Although he might be able to start a company that organizes paint ball or airsoft events as a "coporate trust builder" or some other bullshit excuse for a company to try and raise morale.
Think thats all i got for now, laters.
