Pathetic

Since when does resignation effective immediately become the 1st of September...
My boss is emotionally unstable. That is a huge understatement. She makes people cry and is out of line all the time. She has huge mood swings and never apologizes for her actions. She yells, screams, cries and is quite abrupt and often very rude. Surprisingly,  we actually get along reasonably well.Usually. I think she likes me. She gave me quite an expensive bottle of champagne for Christmas and is usually quite pleasant to me. I have been tolerant of the random phone calls to talk and I pretend to ignore the mood swings. However, she has been quite unbearable lately. So deciding I'd had enough again, I put my resignation in and stated effective immediately. I happened to call my second in charge to tell her that I had resigned and to thank her and she told me that she was informed that I would cover her leave until the 1st of September. How??!! I planned for this and  changed my status from permanent to casual ages ago. I only need to give two hours notice. Further more I also informed them of my intent to resign well over a year ago. This place just wont let go.. I apparently have work pilling up on a desk that is technically no longer mine and I am on the roster!! I gave them a year to replace me!! The silly thing is that I am too scared to call my boss to discuss this. Honestly I feel its easier to just go in and do the work than confront her about this. To listen to the hours of whinging and the tears.....maybe they really will let me go from the 1st of September this time...
