Finally, an Update!
Hi Everyone!! Sorry for the lack of posting, but Ive been really lazy about keeping up with my LiveJournal. Ive been reading everyones entries, I just havent posted any comments or whatnot, because Im lazy. Plus, dial up is a bitch and really really annoying when doing the whole LJ thing, thats another reason why I dont post comments and such. Typing on a laptop is a bitch too, although using teh touchpad is really the higher evil of the two...laptops suck. Theyre cool and everything for travelling, but I would still have my trusty desktop and HUGE moniter :)
Things are going so-so in my life right now, not in a complaining way, but in a matter-of-fact way. Im still at Stop and Shop, and I have been looking for a fulltime job, whether its there, or someplace else. I have my first two interviews on Thursday, although they are both temp jobs. Even still, I wouldnt mind having the hours to save money. I also do not have a car yet. I figured my best bet at the moment is a newer used car. Ive been searching, and have found a few, but I still think I need to get a fulltime job first before I can get the loan.
Good news is I think Ive figured out what I want to do with my life, sorta. I *think* that I would like to work for a publishing company, preferrably books, and preferable not schooling or scientific books, but thats just what i want. Id be up for working in any aspect, whether its reading manuscripts and judging them for approval, editing approved manuscripts, designing book layouts, printing and copying the books, etc. But sadly, western mass is very short on the book publishing industry, so although I might be able to find work at a newspaper, or some other such company that does publishing (brochures, booklets, pamphlets, fliers, etc), if I want to reach my main goal, Im going to have to look for work in either Boston or New York. To work there Im going to have to move, and Im definitely going to need a car, both of which I dont have. Thats why I need a fulltime job, so I can save for the car, and save for money for an apt and emergency money for when/if I move. I think in a couple of years I might be willing to relocate to an even bigger city, somewhere in the West or Midstates, (even overseas!), but not at the moment. Right now, I think Im just where I want to be.
I miss everyone at/from MCLA! Send me an email or something to let me know how things are! :) As for right now, I dont have AIM, cause my dad doesnt want me downloading it onto his laptop. Im working on getting cable internet, so I can have my computer up, although my dad has stuff he needs to do (cancel second phone line, figure out if he gets to keep his MSN email or if hell have to get Charter.com email addy, etc. And until he does these things, the cable internet is a no go. I think if hes not going to get it by Mid-July or so, that Im going to get a modem and have my friend Paul install it on my comp, and then put my dad's ISP provider on there so I can use AIM again :) But I check my email pretty frequently (usually every other day atleast) and I promise to get back to you :)
Well I think thats enough for an update now, I gotta hit the hay soon, as I have to get up around 7:30 for work tomorrow morning. Hope everyone is having a great summer! :)
