Would you like to see something that Is Not Hats? I suspect you would, especially if you know what I know and that the future is very likely to be filled with hats.
Back in May-back on what I consider to be The Last Good Day, before the weather became all nauseatingly hot and pollen-coated-a pair of my favorite little local boutiques held a joint soirée to showcase all of their new finds. You may guess that is where my copy of the
Encyclopedia of Exquisite Things came from, and you'd be right. I love poking around Voila and Garden Style and admiring their displays of old and new, unique pieces and limited editions and collections of antiques (and a surprising lack of perfume cloying the air!)
If you let me in there with a camera, say, when a fancy soiree is going on, I love it even more. Because then I can pretend I am photographing something for an über-pink girl cooties magazine.*
Which is what I proceeded to do back in May. We shall just ignore the limitations of my camera and my overall photo skills.

Certainly there is a lot to inspire the crafters among us, but what it really boils down to is: any future water closet signage should have every inch covered in glitter and be set jauntily askew. If you have learned anything from these boutiques, it is this.
* "
All The Frills Fit To Print" would be their motto.
