Things I have been assaulted by in the garden this week:
• butterflies
• baby rabbits impersonating patches of dirt
• humming birds as what are too fast for the naked eye, let alone a camera lens
• wrens, although they have a long-standing equal opportunity assault policy for anything that moves in the garden
I have also taken up the knack of wearing industrial-grade ear cuffs when sleeping, since my neighborhood has a pathological obsession with power lawn care equipment, and chooses to assault the garden just as I'm getting into stage four sleep. Bless the theatre scene shop requirements about owning your own safety gear.
