I feel as though I'm being pulled in a thousand different directions with neither the energy nor strength nor attention span to do any of it justice. Which is how I spend most of my Aprils, to be honest. Now as then, I will probably flail at it ineffectually (a cheap bid for levity) and go hide under some blankets. Tea also if possible.

lilly_rose underwent surgery for a brain tumor as I've mentioned before. And you may have seen
her letter to the internet, explaining her financial situation. People have been kind and generous beyond belief but I'm a little worried that interest/awareness has tapered off, leaving her with another month of doctor-ordered unemployment to cope with. And the bills, they do not go away. So this is when I, as a friend, pipe up. It's a legitimate situation-I've seen the scar on her skull, I've seen the carousel of medications she's had to be on, I've seen the paperwork piling up in her p.o. box. It's a tough, scary and frustrating situation to be in. Help someone out, if you can? She's good people, really one of the best in my life.

copperbadge is keeping abreast of the Amazon EPIC FAIL situation this evening, and I recommend
his posts which are the sort of insightful, bemused and outraged blend of observations I've come to expect from him. To sum up, Amazon has stripped GLBT and
disability themed books of sales rank data to prevent "adult material" from showing up on search results. Which is a discriminatory practice hiding behind the mask of general prudish censorship, neither of which I agree with. Predictably, the internet takes notice when someone tries to take away their pr0n and it has gone all explodey-like. (Twitter, I am told, has especially gone supernova on this but I am too tired/distracted/intimidated to check.)
As I said,
copperbadge's posts are filled with a number of ways for you to cry bullshit. I recommend crying it, good and loud. This is not on. #amazonfail
3) Thing as what I originally wanted to post about, that does not require its own soapbox: my hexaskirt! It's done! The
buttonholes stymied me for a long while because the sewing machine suddenly decided it could not cope with gripping fabric. So these were done entirely by hand, with a really tight backstitch, satinstitch, some fraycheck and a seam ripper. Ah, the excitement of Ye Olden Worlde crafting.
Turned out mighty fine, if I do say so myself. Also, it is probably safe to add that I win at buttons.
