I think it speaks to the really weird mentality my country has gotten to, when the news media reports on Barak Obama's daily schedule:
A pause after the newscast, and then the rest of my brain catches up with current events and says OH OF COURSE. Wars and Gitmo and all that. Right. He had seven hours in which to savor his victory and then he's gotta hit the ground running.
. . .
It's just that we've never done this in my lifetime before, not announced publicly anyway. And that's when it really starts to sink in how screwed up the last eight years have been.
- send daughters off to school
- gym
- start briefings by the CIA
