The Girly Agenda

There are a few clumps of brave little snapdragons trying to bloom, half-buried under the raked leaves. Lemony yellow, pale white, creamy rose, and bright bright fuchia. Part of me wants to wait and let them figure out that it's winter, that the flowers are probably no good for candying, that they'll be bitter, and that I will not nearly use up anything approaching an entire egg white in candying them.

The more impatient part of me notes that it's likely to snow tomorrow evening, and that my candied flower supplies are dwindling, and when is the next time I'm likely to see fuchia naturally occuring in November here, eh?

I've also got some new buttons to replace the crappily sewn-on ones on my black jacket. They may not be the TARDIS buttons, but they certainly are an improvement on the existing ones (one of which has already fallen off, grrr). I'm also a bit excited to see how well English Cut's directions work out. Hmm. Should I try to put a small bead atop the buttons for a little more embellishment? The mother-of-pearl looks a little . . . less than robust for that kind of strain.
