because i rulez!!!!11!
finished coding about an hour ago. { yes. i code my webpages in simpletext. because i'm crazy like that. a shiny new icon to whoever finds a bug in it first . . . } which is no mean feat considering i killed my keyboard last night. thought i was going to have to go into the apple store in towson, spend obscene amounts of money to buy a new keyboard that only runs with OS X, buy copy of OS X, ditch the majority of things on my hard drive to run it, and have all of my software be incompatible. the odds of me walking out of there with an ipod significantly increased when i found out that they have instant loans. kiss my bank account good-by . . .
when i mentioned this little trek to boss-eric, he rang up directory assistance, and got me on the phone with a mac-carrying store four blocks away that had a keyboard that played nice with classic. they even stayed a few minutes more so i could walk down there from work.
now i'm clickety clacking away on a sleek translucent and white keyboard that doesn't spew gibberish when i hit a key, doesn't have dust and gunk and god-knows-what-else in between the keys. moreover it has a space bar. i am absurdly excited about this. the now-deceased keyboard had its space bar accidentally pried off in a move, and it's replacement died last september. i've been getting by through having a calligraphy pen handy, depressing the space sensor, copying that space into the clipboard, and pasting it between words. my apologies to everyone who's talked to me on aim and has had to deal with all those little "v"s between words - my coordination doesn't always match the speed at which i think and type.
but that is all over and done with!!! and the website is refurbished!!! carmen_lj is squeeing over b7 at last!! oh, joyous day night!
