I actually started to write a series of poems about the Bond books a while back, but gave up in disgust at my lack of tonal control.

have you read the books? They are wonderfully obsessive.
Unfortunately, I've never sat through an entire James Bond movie.

(Tom looks vaguely muppetlike himself in those photos. How unfortunate.)

um. i confess being very shallow and seeing the movies because they had pierce brosnan in them. i have not retained many plot points though. i know i've seen previous bonds, but i honestly don't remember any of them.

(he looks caricatured, doesn't he? it might be the picture quality and the incredibly bad lighting. or it might be the perma-sneer.)

yes. The Thomas Crowne Affair is good for that.
I like the books: they reveal this version of manliness that I totally DON'T get and it fascinates me.

(have I mentioned my o-so-secret crush on Neville Longbottom yet?)

yes. just this last movie, something happened.
(though I've always had a soft spot for the character in the books)

Have you read the Neville/Draco stories written by A.J. Hall? Very much in the style of Dorothy Sayers. (And I love what she's done with the character of Narcissa Malfoy.)

I haven't read very much fanfic at all, but it looks intriguing. Neville and Draco as a sort of buddy cop duo?
