Learning First Hand
Hey all, it's been a while since I said anything here. I really did mean to update on Sunday but well... Funny story!
I realized that my hard drive is on the caput and in trying to postpone that event until I get a new hard drive (Prospecting either the Seagate Momentus 7200rpm 100 gig, or the Hitachi Travelstar E7K100 100 gig) I decided to clear up my hard drive a bit. Here's what I did:
- Transferred several animes to DVDs
- Erased several games that were on CD that I no longer play
- Moved my main/usr/ file to the trash bin
Can you guess which action made my computer no longer start up? Somehow, by moving all the OS process files to the trash made them no longer work, I wonder why?
Consequently, I spent the night at my father's trying to fix it and I did (had to boot up in Target Disk Mode then manually move /usr/ out of my .trash file, I couldn't have deleted it if I had tried). At the same time, I was also able to get down to Microserv and get an opinion about hard drives (Huguette suggested a 5400 rpm drive, I said "maybe". The price worked) and afterwards, I headed off to school or rather got my dad to drive me down to the Penfield entrance. Calculus lasted 35 minutes and I rushed there :P.
That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. Man, 2 days without internet access really takes a toll on you. No Facebook, no viral videos, no John C Dvorak blogs... It makes you think that there just might be a world outside. What a scary thought.

Things are winding down though. Much to my dismay it seems. I've been burdened with several assignments that I have no motivation to get done:
- English mini-essay as well as an english 1250 word essay (Create a society about *cough*Communism*cough* Worldcentric values). Both due monday.
- French oral presentation on thursday (not worried)
- Phys Ed presentation tomorrow (not really worried)
- Calculus Test on thursday, webwork due sunday, quiz on monday and exam on... the 18th? wtf...
oh yeah, and
- Cunningham's 3 year anniversary, Therefore work on Thursday and friday night (asked to be cut early)
...Shitty freakin week. Things WILL be easier from then on though. If I can put some money on the hard drive this week, I'll be installing it before the 20th. I even have the manuals and a video of how to do it on mac mini. At least that's something to look forward to.

Hey, my printer just ran out fo ink. Fan-flipping-tacular. If isn't one thing, it's my damn printer. Anyway, I have reading/writing to do. Almost done 1984, I think the butler did it. Good luck on exams all, I know I'll need it Calculus...
