I saw this meditation on business cycles and contrarian investing in _Food & Money in Ancient China_, which I stumbled across in the Rosicrucian Research Library in San Jose, when tyrsalvia took me there in 2003.
I was able to find it again today with Google Books. So not everything is rotting. Unfortunately, the book is out of print, so I'd probably have to borrow it from a university library if I wanted to read it.
