Am I serious about my religion?

Some preliminary notes: This essay is in response to concerns raised to me privately. I have not identified the persons making the statements. Please don't ask. The reason it is posted here is that I have received similar (though less vehement) statements in the past, and I want to clear up a lot of misconception.Three statements have been raised

Yeah, I should have. Sometimes I forget that people don't have the same thought process I do. I generally jump from thing to thing in my mind, and don't realize that others may not get all the dead space

While this is true, I'll just rebutt that I thought Discordians enjoyed being thought of as less serious. ;)

Yeah, but it comes down to my split personality :) One side says, "Dude, we should do this because it's funny!" and the other side says, "Yeah, but does it have a point?"

To which the first responds, "Dude, you're killin' me!"

But point of the matter is that it's that second side that keeps me from being the asshole most Discordians and Chaotes are. Uh, no offense or anything *grins*

As far as who can make chants, it's only master bards (if that's their title), from what I understand.

This is news to me. What are Grove Bards and Liturgists supposed to do? They aren't required to be affiliated with the Guilds in any way.

I'm skeptical of whomever told you this. In my old Grove we had someone inclined to take on a bardic role who wrote several chants for our rituals. AFAIK, everyone is encouraged to write their own chants and other portions of liturgy. If things spread to other Groves and Sols, great, but there's no guarantee they will or that someone will include them on the ADF site.
