The High School Experience
1. Did you date someone from your school?
I went on A date. It wasn't much of anything -- bunch of people went to the movies, and I went to the one he wanted to see. There was no kissing or making out involved. It could hardly even be technically called a date, if not for the fact that our mutual friends were trying to set us up.
2. Did you win anything in Senior's Who's Who?
I got 'Most Artistic' and 'Most Individualistic.'
3. What kind of car did you drive?
I didn't drive during high school.
4. It's Friday night...where r u at?
If anywhere, I might be sleeping over my (at-the-time) best friend's house, or out driving around with a group of people.
5. Were you a party animal?
I went to a few back in the day, but I was mostly experimenting. I wasn't really into it then, and I am certainly not into it now.
6. Were you considered a flirt?
No, I was just considered a freak.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Nope.
8. Were you a nerd?
I was just... a freak. Somewhat nerdy, yes, and still am. But nerdy in my own way.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Got in-school suspension (which we called "Box") during Sophomore year for getting thrown out of class.
10. Can you sing the fight song?
Um... we had a fight song?
11. Who were your favorite teachers?
Mr. Widmore, my Sophomore biology teacher, who was sarcastic and funny and gave everybody in class a hard time but me, because he thought I was the smartest kid in the class (despite my being a complete slacker). My senior year Psychology teacher, Mr. Borchetta, was cool as hell, too -- laid-back and funny.
12. Where did you sit during lunch?
Mostly I hung out in the bathrooms -- the ones near the cafeteria were more like smoking lounges -- so, as gross as it may sound, some of us would bring our lunches into the bathroom and camp out on the floor there. Made it easy and convenient to have a smoke after a meal.
13. What was your school's full name?
WL (town name) High School.
14. School mascot?
A pirate.
15. Homecoming court?
Uh, what?
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Knowing what I know now -- yes. If not, then no.
17. What do you remember most about graduation?
It was a nice evening, not too warm. I wore a white gown & hat that I had decorated. It felt surreal, the fact that 4 years had gone by so fast, and that in the past I had thought ahead to that moment. It was rather anticlimactic and not overly sentimental, as most of my best friends were in different grades or different schools than I.
18. Where did you go senior skip day?
I don't remember having one
19. Have u gained some weight since then?
Yeah -- I wish I realized back then that I wasn't fat, because I am now. Wish I could have appreciated my normal-ness then.
20. Who was your Senior prom date?
I went with a friend instead.
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
I crashed my 10-year reunion with an acquaintance I'd kept in contact with over the years. GLAD I didn't pay for it...
22. Who was your home room teacher?
I had a different one every year -- I can't remember their names.
23. Clubs?
There was a lame attempt to form an art club at one point, but I think we had like... one meeting.
24. Did you play any sports?
Oh god no.
25. Do you still talk to people from school?
Nope, not a single one anymore.
26. What year did you graduate?
1993.
