I've been faithfully trying to catch up with my friends (and friends only, no communities) LJ lives, only to realize that LJ prevents me to do so sometimes. Bastard.
I've been having weird dreams again. The worst I remember being the one the night of July 4 when I was at some sort of high school reunion, only Helen, one of my coworkers was with me guiding me and introducing me to people that I already knew. When we got to one man with our back turned towards us, I had this strange feeling, and when he turned around, it was Mr. Jansson, who was my 11-12th grade English/AP teacher, who passed away some 4 years ago now. He turned around and smiled his goofy smile and I was so disturbed and confused seeing him, then "Mr. Jansson" pressed a button and it was just some hologram over some guy's body the he projected onto himself...he looked a little like Napoleon Dynamite but bigger and assholier because he did that and it got me really upset, and I started to cry. And then I sat up in the conscious world as I was waking up, sobbing. I was in Ventura that night and it obviously woke up Greg and he just comforted me back to sleep.
Summer at the Armory has started, and it's not as bad as I had imagined it to be. They told me it was full of screaming mothers and kids and it's really not. I think that may be thanks to the fact that I've been busting my ass for the past three months to make sure it would run like this, and for the first time in three months, I'm not behind. It's the greatest feeling in the world. The funniest thing being, however, is the fact that I finally was caught working overtime and it caused a big stink by doing so. It was me and Grace who worked overtime, since the Studio Driector and 1/3 of our three person Studio department team, decided to take a vacation a week before our busiest time of the year with a holiday mid-week back us up a day we wish we could have worked. I have no regrets, since the first day of studio happened without a hitch we could have prevented. Whatever.
I like going to baseball games. I went to one at the end of the month, and it was bobble head night, and it's seriously a blast going with people who just like to have a good time. Last game I went with Natilie, Tony, our next door neighbor, Greg and myself, because I originally won tickets from Indie 103.1 when I called into Joe Escalante's Barely Legal radio program, and we even had some silly banter about my name, an exchange we had 5 years ago, and I won tickets to a game I originally thought I couldn't go to because I had tickets to see the Decemberists @ the Hollywood Bowl, but when I talked to the guy handling the prize giving-away he said it was for Friday. So I was happy. Only, when the roommate picked it up and brought it home, it did say it was for Saturday. Bummer, especially since a ball game would have been a perfect end a such a crappy week. But Natilie felt responsible for the mistake that she should have checked before leaving the offices and we couldn't do anything, so she bought tickets for Friday anyway. It was a blast. And we get to go to the A's @ LA Angels of Anaheim today on $1 hot dog night! Greg's an A's fan, Nat and I are Dodgers girls, and fresh from NYC Nikki is coming representing Angeldom. I hope we don't get stuff thrown at us since Greg will be wearing his A's cap.
And yes, I saw the Decemberists @ the Hollywood Bowl play with the LA Philharmonic. That was pretty awesome. Andrew Bird and Band of Horses opened up for them, both of which were awesome as well.
And then we had a peeping tom try to peek in on each of us on two nights in a row. That's an entry in itself.
That's pretty much it. Oh, and I've gotten big, according to my parents.
YAY!
