Ahhhh, I'm in love again. Patrick comes across as such a sweet and engaging person. His love to share his stirring ballads is tenderly received by us. He plays keyboard, guitar, ukelele, viola and Appalachian Mountain dulcimer. On stage with him, a violinist, double bass, drummer and a guy on a Macbook.
His costumes were wonderful, of course.
11-Dec-09 The Mapletons + Howling Bells. Same venue.
Mapletons remind me of Lush without so much swirling. Like lying on a bed of cress overgrowing you. I was not very fascinated, but they were pleasant.
Howling Bells were accomplished, not a foot wrong. Much stronger and more worldly. The grim older sister of their support act. Some very intriguing progressions in their songs.
