The weekend absolutely flew by. Here are the highlights:
Soccer on Friday night. We kicked butt and won 9-1. I had five goals and two assists. Zipped home, showered, changed and then zipped down to Lynnwood to meet everyone at the Salvadors. Ate some food. Had a Pina Colada Trophy Cupcake which was to die for, then played Dominion with the kids. Ended up eating a Choco-Vanilla Trophy Cupcake also. Yikes. Then it was home and to bed.
Saturday was spent watching the USA lose to Ghana. Boo! I watched the first half, then had to drive my brother-in-law to the airport to catch his flight to San Fran. Got home and watched the second half, plus overtime only to be gutted at the end. Boo! Messed around a bit on the computer, played some Carcassonne on the iPod and then it was off to Todd's 40th Surprise birthday party. Ate a bunch of food, played Mexican Train and then had cheesecake. mmmmmm...cheesecake. Mike Odegard was there which was cool because I haven't seen him in like 10 years. He's doing well. After that I went over to Big Dave's new house and pretty much spent the evening getting caught up with him and his wife Lorraine. I haven't seen them in like seven years. They have three kids now. Crazy. Anyway, late night but lots of fun.
Sunday I slept in. Got up and made some choco, macadamia nut pancakes and bacon. Spent some time outside doing weeding. I pulled out a thistle bush that was seriously seven feet tall and as thick as my forearm at the base. It was MASSIVE. Played a little Just Cause 2 and some Red Dead Redemption, plus some book reading and then it was off to soccer. We ended up losing 10-9 because we had no goalie. Blech. Also, in the last minute of the game I got kicked on the shin with the bone contusion that hadn't fully healed and it hurt like hell. Got home, iced it, read some more of my book and then sacked out.
Started off today by finding out that someone had hacked my credit card information and spent nearly $7,000 on airline tickets and deposting funds into a cyber bank account. So I got to spend all morning getting my card cancelled, starting a fraud investigation, etc. Gah. This is so annoying and such a pain. Hopefully they catch the punk that did it and throw them in jail. At least I'm off the hook for the purchases though.
Spent most of the day fighting work related stuff. Only a few more days until the big transition and everyone around here is basically going insane.
So I'm about to leave for the day. I'm loving my new novel, Perdido Street Station. I plan on reading some more tonight after going for a walk with the in-laws and maybe Sushi for dinner.
