...And it's not really so fun. Especially not when you're at a Hetalia fan meet-up picnic, singing "The Delicious Tomato Song," and it's time to belt out Romano's epic "Chigiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!"
So, yeah, you might have seen around the main comm that there was a Hetalia Meet Up Picnic today. Lucky for me it was relatively close to where I live, so I was able to get permission to go, along with my friend
fushigimaii I think I'm just gonna go over all the super fun parts of the day!!!
So, when I first got there things were still pretty slow, as the event was only just starting (and, in true Hetalia-tard nation, most of the people who showed up, especially the cosplayers, were late xD). Eventually, a large group had accumlated, and some of the latecomers who missed the stuff people brought for the picnic decided to go to the nearby McDonalds (which was the world's largest one, much to America's delight!!). Seeing America pose for a picture with a statue of liberty was SO MUCH FUN~! While we were on line, Russia went up to America and was like "I've got a present for you!" and handed him (her) a tiny box with XS written on it. (X-Small, for those who don't get it.) Then, our Italy, who was squeeing cutely and depressed at the lack of Germany at the meet, started to have his pipe cleaner curl fought over. Then he (she) was about to go ask the lady at the counter for pasta, only the line was long so we decided to hurry out instead.
On the walk back to the park, Austria's wig started to slide, only he (she, also. All the cosplayers were female) decided to say "My hair is falling out!" To which I had to retort "And this is why Hungary is going to leave you for Prussia!" Which led to emo!Austria. Later on, this Austria took a Gilbert McNugget and threw it on the floor, pumpling it to a pulp before allowing pigeons to devour it. I had to look away at this point.
Another fun moment was a supreme AmericaxN.Italy moment, when the US decided to take advantage of the fact that Italy had no Germany. He sat on Italy's lap, and held onto the curl, making Italy scream his name and proclaim his awesomeness. It only ended when America was like "Admit my pasta is better than yours!" And Italy shoved him off XD
I brought my Canadian flag with me, and gave it to a Canada cosplayer who was estatic to borrow it. I also brought an American themed soccer ball, only no one played, and it ended up being thrown at me XDD I also also brought with me my Canada and UK paperdolls, the latter of which America had alot of fun. Um, there was a general lot of harrassment and singing of the various MKCs and Character Songs, as well as a visit to Kinokunya (which I know is misspelled there), the largest Japanese bookstore in the US. There we fangirled over various mangas and such. Also, in the store Italy was recoginzed, and we found out that the girl who recoginzed her was also an Italy cosplayer, and her friend was a (Male!) Germany. So, our Italy got a Doitsu hug in the end!!
And, Austria made good cookies. There are pictures of them somewhere on the main comm, and they were tasty as they looked (I ate the Sweden cookie!!).
So, I found someone going as Turkey to the next con in this city, and that person already has a Greece, so I have even more reason to make and Egypt cosplay now. I MUST DO IT!!!
Ah, so this was pointless rambling. The moral is, go out and enjoy yourselves at Hetalia meet-ups, but be careful not to loose your voice and have trouble talking!! XD
