Christmas etc...

Well,

Christmas was very nice. Gluttony all around really. Too many presents, too much food, lots of beverages and family and fun...

This year we focused on presents for ourselves rather than buying for each other so much. We bought a new Computer (yay!) and we'll be buying a new desk for to put said computer on it. The inlaws were great hosting the festivities and a good time was had by all.

I got a game called Bohnanza which is a wonderful German Pun and is a great little card game. We played it and all 6 of the new players enjoyed it. It's silly and fun and I have to say those Germans sure can come up with good games.

On Christmas Eve, I made a new dish from one of the many new cookbooks I have received over the last year. Many of them showed up during the course of our wedding showers.

The new Recipe is from the New German Cookbook. It's called Lammtopf which means lambpot and is basically a really great stew, seved with Saffron rice. mmmmmmmm....

Let's see if I do the recipe justice... or at least give you an idea of what's involved.

Lamb Shoulder, beef broth, Fresh Green Beans, Daikon, Red Pepper, shallots, green onion, mint, garlic, and a few other ingredients I can't remember right now...

Bascially, brown the lamb in a kettle, set aside, cook up shallots, red pepper and garlic. Add lamb beef broth and simmer for over an hour. Add green beans on top and simmer for half an hour. Add green onions and mint and simmer for 20 minutes.

There's actually a couple more steps and ingredients, but I'm going from memory. Let's just say the dish was phenomenal and it will definitely make it into the rotation!!!

Yay cooking!

Now it's get the house ready for New Years and part of that is getting the computer set up! I have to make sure that I set up the Router correctly and set up any other firewally type stuff to make sure this computer doesn't become a beckoning call for ick like our current one has.

Ok, I'm off to work on stuff and plan the new computer setup!!!
