At least you have the benfit of driving by every once in a while to see it and see how the new owners are taking care of it. It's a strange feeling knowing you can't go back.
Happened to me when I saw the house I grew up in bull-dozed into a pile of rubble. Now it's an empty lot.
Just re-read my comment - didn't mean to come across as a 'woe is me' type reply.
You can never go back, even when I'd drive by the house on the way to Bell HS or whatever, it was never the same. But you have cool memories. Hell, I think we all have cool memories of your parent's place. And that's the important thing.
I should always be able to drive by the two houses I grew up in...course I gotta drive to Chicago to do it. But I don't think they'll ever be bulldozed...that really, really bites...
