Wednesday, April 12 -- My seat is C1 at the Train concert at the State Theatre. I knew I was close to the stage... but when I got there, I found out that C1 is the single-seat front row of that section. It put me about 10 feet from the stage... but only about FOUR feet from the BIGGEST SPEAKERS you've ever seen. I knew this was trouble...
The opening act started, and the sounds & vibration nearly knocked me over! After the first song was over, I ran to find me some earplugs. After I got those, I was able to enjoy the show. Sad... I've been to KISS, Poison, Aerosmith, Saliva, Alice Cooper and Twisted Sister... and the first time I've neede earplugs was for light-rock Train.
Thursday, April 13 -- Twins win 8-2! I'm off to a good 1-0 start.
Saturday, April 15 -- I head back to the Twin Cities for another Twins game! A two-run single, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, and the Twins win again, 6-5! Yes!!! I'm already 2-0!
Sunday, April 16 -- Dinner with my sister, Rose, at her place in Eagan. Small get-together. From there, I met up with my Dad at the Target Center, to watch the hapless (and Garnett-less) T-Wolves play sluggish basketball. They trailed by nearly 40 points until the Spurs pulled their starters, and the Wolves slowly pulled back in, and 'only' lost by 13.
I finish my T-Wolves season at 6-4, and I GUARANTEE I will see fewer games next year. After the way they finished this year, they don't deserve my money & support. Yes, I'm angry.
Gas hit $2.85 here in Chippewa Falls today. I have decided against going to IWA-MS this weekend, and instead will take in the NIW doubleheader in Minnesota. Gas prices also mean I will miss the Neo Pro show on April 29.
Quite frankly... it will take two events now to get me to come to the Twin Cities... I need to see either two Twins/Timberwolves/wrestling shows over the weekend to make it worth it. Gas is just too high.
(Concerts are a rare exception... I'll still go to those, just because you never know when an act will be back!) So, I'd still come in just for a concert, but I'd prefer not to.
I do love IWA-MS, but with the way the shows are structured this year... most of my usual riding partners will already be in Illinois on Saturday... and I just don't anticipate going at all by myself.
