Well, I made it to 36 weeks at work. Wednesday night, I worked 3-11 and got "frozen" until 2:30, meaning basically that there weren't enough nurses on for the night shift and since I was the one with the lowest seniority, I had to stay. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it was kind of the last straw, so to speak. Yesterday, I saw one of the midwives at my practice and I asked her to take me out of work. I really hated asking, and part of me feels guilty, and I feel kind of "weak", like I should have lasted a little longer. But you know, every day I went to work, and someone would say, "You're still here? Can't you get them to take you out?" I was worried about being bored (feasibly, it could be another 5 weeks before I deliver) and staying active. One nurse I work with said, "You know, be bored. Because after the baby's born, you won't be bored for a long time." And that kind of reinforced my decision. So, wow... it's crazy to think that I won't be working until, probably, December. But I am determined to stay active. The midwife said yesterday that his head is way down, which is good. And I truly believe that the busier I can keep myself, the quicker my labor. We shall see...

So Mom and Dad came in to town last night. As always, it's wonderful to see them. I think seeing how much my belly has grown has them very excited about the impending arrival of their grandson. I have my shower on Saturday--Brian's mom is hosting it and I'm sure it will be lovely, albeit small. Brian's parents bought us the glider we wanted... Oh, it's absolutely wonderful. It's so fun to imagine rocking in it with my little baby. :)

So that's it for now, you may be hearing a lot more from me...
