So we had our official ultrasound on Tuesday, and it's pretty undeniable. And I love that I can tell my child that I posted a picture of its genitals on the internet. :)
Holden came with us and I think he was quite happy to learn that he is having a little brother. Brian and I weren't so surprised. An ultrasound I did at work a couple of weeks ago strongly hinted that we were seeing a little (though one of the nurses thought he was rather well-endowed) penis. Right around that same time, I had a few days off and really began to feel his movement. And I am so desperately in love with this little boy. Nothing makes me happier than to just lie here and feel him moving around in there. Of course, the name game has begun. Brian and I have a favorite, but have been met with some less-than-enthusiastic responses from my family. Well, screw them. I can see why my brother and sister-in-law waited until my nephew was born to make the announcement. Holden's name is a little different, and I think it is perfectly fitting that this child have a more unique name as well. We still have 5 months to go, and we will just see how it goes.
In other news, I have become obsessed with knitting. Like I am forgoing sleep to knit. I started a baby blanket when my brother and sister-in-law were pregnant with my 4-year old nephew. Unfortunately, I lost interest in it. Now I am absolutely determined to finish this for my son. (So weird to say that!!) So I find myself knitting quite a bit while I listen to classical music streaming from iTunes. I sit here and imagine what it will be like to see these little hands and feet for real.
