Holiday Season

As I sit here at home, playing hooky from work because the revenue the past couple of days has been THAT BAD, I'm reminded that that means I have plenty of time to sit down and tell ya'll what I've been up to the past couple weeks.  Well, on the otherwise fabulous side, I've been able to reconnect with an old girlfriend, and it feels like we've only not seen each other for a week or so, instead of several months.  But I understood that there were some things she needed to deal with, so I'm cool with that.  She even spent the night last night, so I had someone nice and soft to cuddle with. :D  On the not-so-good side, I'm still dealing with a mondo molar toothache that I'v been dealing with, with the help of modern medicine, for a couple weeks now, cuz I couldn't afford (timewise, mostly) to take off to get it taken care of until after this weekend, since I WILL be working on Friday to btoh make up for taking today and tomorrow off and also because I'm not INSANE enough to try and brave the utter chaos that is the Black Friday sales.  Sorry, not gonna happen- learned that when I was 15.  But I'll also be working the Bucs game on Sunday, so hopefully I can get it taken care of Monday or something like that.

But, I do so enjoy this time of year, commercialism not withstanding.  I have may fond memories growing up of all the family, on my mom's side, mostly coming together and cooking and goofing off and having a good ol' time.  I wish I could find Mom's apple-orange gravy recipe for tomorrow, but I don't think we're gonna be cooking this year, so maybe I'll save it for Christmas, but boy, is it gooooooood!  I miss not really having much family down here with me, but I definitely think I've made up for it by some of the friends I've made over the years.   And I think that's what's more important about tomorrow- to be thankful for the family that you may not have had by blood, but is so much more precious because you CHOSE these people to be close to.  May everyone have a great Thanksgiving Day.
