the irony to end all ironies

just yesterday i was thinking about three things:

1. how i'm never afraid walking around campus in the dark even though i feel like i should be because of the increased crime rate this year. i'm a girl and i should get nervous about that shit, but for some reason i never do.
2. how eventhough we leave our doors unlocked at our house all too often we haven't had any problems with crime or trespassing like the girls in our house did last year.
3. how i'm far too dependent on my computer for how often my old one used to fail me. i just trust the mac so much. and i even said to alison, becky, and sheena while walking to the union that i should be more concerned about being so reliant on all the info i keep stored on my computer.

so what happened, you may be wondering?

last night while out at harmonettes practice someone decided to walk in our back door that was accidently left unlocked and proceeded to steal five of our laptop computers, one video camera in the case with all of rachel's home videos from her childhood, two regular cameras, some cash from becky, and a backpack. it's just a violating and creepy feeling to know that someone nonchalantly walked through your house and rummaged through your things. i can't really stand thinking about it and i just want to kick the person who did it a bazillion times. i know it's our fault for having the back door unlocked, but really they had to have been scoping out our house waiting for us to leave. ugh. it makes me sick and angry. so if you see someone with five computers and a backpack with the intials RAP on it KICK THEM IN THE KNEE CAPS. and then return everything to my house.

the good news is no one was hurt. and they could've taken a lot more. i'm still pissed though.

on the bright side our concert is tomorrow evening and it's gonna be hot. plus now we don't have to worry about things getting stolen at our after party. yay for optimism.
