i am one lucky son of a gun.
so a few weeks ago i got a ticket for going 61 in a 45 after our awful notre dame loss. i was headed out of town with some UMDMers for our CPT retreat and while we were jamming out to some whitney houston and racing to get to the cottage first i neglected to pay any attention to my speedometer. so i pretty much really deserved to be pulled over.
well after finding out the ticket was four points and a bazillion dollars i decided that i'd at least try and beg for forgiveness in court and see if i could get the fine reduced. my appointment was scheduled for this morning so i set my alarm for 6:30am despite going to bed far too late. i got up to the first alarm but in my exhaustion reset the alarm and rolled over to fall asleep again. yeah. bad idea. i woke up at 8:15 for my 8:30 court appointment in ypsilanti. i yelled profanities really loudly and then threw on the first court appropriate clothes i could find. ironic that i was speeding all the way to ypsi. i pulled into the parking lot at about 8:37 and ran into the court house. the woman at the front desk directed me toward the right room and as i was walking in the judge was giving the last call for my case. The officer assigned to the court room said she couldn't find the officer who pulled me over and the judge was just like, "Okay...case dismissed. You got here right on time."
Seriously. Thank goodness.
and now that I skipped my first class and my second one is cancelled because of fall break/yom kippur i don't have class until 4pm. oh the possibilities :)
