Life can be so surreal sometimes. The thought of the frivolous taking of someone else’s life is incomprehensible. It was Barbara’s little brother. Barbara who fainted because we taped her down to tight. Who dated one of my best friends. Her little brother, gone. It is horrible, it is sad, it is wrong in so many ways.

I just recently found a song, It is called “Taps for Maynard” it is a tribute to Maynard Ferguson one of the legends of Jazz trumpet. The song had such a powerful effect on me. I have no idea if it will have a similar effect on you, but I wanted to post it. To put it where you could listen to it. There is so much power in music, it is amazing.

I don’t need to tell anyone this but, life is worth so much more than we sell it for. Think of the people in your life who are gone. We all have someone, close or far who is not here with us any more. Think of them and then treasure your life. Every waking moment you can find on this earth should be treasured.

I don’t know what to say. I am so sad, so disappointed in people. I just hope something will come from this. Maybe the next time some one is going to fight over something they know isn’t worth it they will step back and ask themselves if it is worth it.

I hope this finds you in a place you want to be in. I hope everyone can take a moment and pray for the family of Michael Nieves.
