I recently shared this photo of my local water fitness instruction setup, which helps keep me cooler with a high-power fan and by moving me away from the hot tub.
When I walked into the lobby yesterday, a lifeguard warned me that there were some obstacles.
That's just a small portion of the pumpkins that were brought in for today's Pumpkins in the Pool event. Glad I got there early since I needed to move most of the pumpkins in the photo out of my way. They're nature's kettlebells. I texted my boss to let her know I was claiming an extra ten minutes.
I hoped to promote the event in my after-class text message, but I checked and there were no more reservations left. At least my
Halloween playlist was a huge hit! I also had some fun choosing songs from my
pre-class playlist before class rather than just starting somewhere and letting it play. That happened because the aforementioned lifeguard asked to hear "Bette Davis Eyes" and then I played "On the Dark Side" for my friend Chrissie since it's a favorite of hers and she was enjoying "Bette Davis Eyes" so much. Then I picked "I Got My Mind Set on You" as the last song before class because it was the right length to take up the last bit of time.
It was fun to be goofy to the Halloween music. I heard a fellow instructor in the water say it was like a workout and a show.
That lifeguard asked if I could play some Stray Cats after class while I put everything away and sent my text out, and YouTube Music made that easy by having their greatest hits album available. I find myself having to adjust volume frequently since the app doesn't offer a sound-leveling feature, and the app can be tricky in other ways, but I still think it's an excellent resource.
