Moments ago, I put into our outgoing mailbox a check for the remaining balance on my auto loan.
My receipt should include the title for the car :)
Heading into a recession, it sure does feel good to be completely debt-free with a good amount of savings. And, my monthly take-home income just went up by several hundred dollars due to me being free of a car payment! If I'm smart, I'll put away a car payment every month so it's there next time I want to buy a car. I'm keeping the one I've got as long as it remains reliable, and it's been rock-solid so far.
Well, except for when I literally run over rocks and take out my AC compressor, then the actual rocks prove themselves to be more solid. (Now that I own the car outright, I ought to be able to afford to get that fixed, eh? Especially before it gets warm out again...)
